The "Improvement of the Road Surface Santiago – Mercedes Sur" project aims to optimize the area's road infrastructure, ensuring greater safety and comfort for users. To achieve this, several key activities were carried out, including excavation on the road and for structures to properly prepare the terrain; reconditioning of the subgrade, ditches, and shoulders to improve drainage and road stability; supply, transport, and placement of C-grade granular base to provide an optimal support surface; application of hot-mix asphalt prepared at the plant to enhance the pavement’s resistance and durability; lining of channels, ditches, and counter ditches (Type III) to ensure efficient rainwater drainage; filling and adaptation for other complementary project structures; and the supply and placement of hydraulic concrete for structures to guarantee their strength and durability.
