Our History
1978
Foundation
PAVICEN LIMITADA was founded in June 1978 with the aim of carrying out infrastructure work such as graveling streets, farm entrances, parking lots, and asphalt paving. For this purpose, it had basic equipment consisting of two single-axle wagons, a backhoe, and a compactor.
1980
Equipment purchase
In the early 1980s, it acquired significant equipment such as: an asphalt emulsion distributor, a Barber Green brand asphalt plant capable of producing 20 tons per hour, and a Model 65 grader.
2007
Relocation
At the beginning of 2007, the company moved to a 40,000m2 plot of land in the Alajuela Industrial Zone, where the new offices, workshops, and asphalt mixing plant are located.
2019
Green asphalt
In 2019, the Research & Development process began to develop an asphalt mixture with 1% plastic in collaboration with a master's student and the National Laboratory of Materials and Structural Models of the University of Costa Rica (Lanamme).
2020
Asphalt Project
In December 2020, the first stretch of a road with asphalt and recycled plastic was paved at the University of Costa Rica, also known as "Green Asphalt”.
